SMSexpress® is an innovative software to facilitate the process of sending short text messages from your computer to mobile phones in 90 countries of the world.

You can compose your messages off line, save them to hard disk as drafts. You may have prepared many different messages and message templates for later use. You can load those messages from hard disk. You must have an active Internet connection to send your messages to mobile phones.

If you ever tried to send SMS from your computer to a mobile phone using your web browser and Internet gateway you might have been annoyed by having to wait a considerable amount of time while all those web pages with fancy graphics are being loaded by your browser. This becomes even more frustrating when you need to switch from one SMS gateway to another in order to send SMS to subscribers of different cellular networks in different countries. Your browser insists on loading all those flash movies, Java applets, Java scripts, pop-up advertisments and banners before you actually can use the gateway for sending your message. Sometimes you have to wait 2 or 3 minutes before gaining access to the gateway because the web page is not completely loaded.

Using SMSexpress® like a command center you will have all those SMS gateways at your fingertips. No need to have a browser! SMSexpress® is compact and self-contained. It doesn't clutter your hard disk  with a lot of files or entries in the registry, like those browsers do. For normal operation you need just a single SMSX.EXE file (about 600 kb in size) and you can run it from any directory of your choice, even from a floppy disk.

A lot of users are wondering why SMSexpress® is sending text messages to mobile phones so quickly. The fact is that it is establishing a direct HTTP connection to the cellular company's SMS portal, then it goes straight to the point filtering out up to 90% of overhead HTTP traffic, sending your messages in a straightforward manner. The result is a very fast operation!

Some people are saying: "Why should we bother using SMSexpress, it is now possible to send SMS to mobile phones in various countries from the ICQ program" - yes, that's true, but there are a lot of limitations. First of all, you must have the new version of ICQ installed on your computer, it is very bulky and consumes a lot of system resources. Some people are hating ICQ and other Internet chatting programs because this is a waste of time as they think. This kind of people prefer to communicate by email and never install ICQ. Sending SMS messages from ICQ to most of the non-GSM cellular networks is impossible. For instance in North, Central and South America, the Caribbean, 70% of cellular networks are either TDMA or CDMA (that is, non-GSM). Here comes the power of SMSexpress which allows you to send SMS messages to both GSM and non-GSM networks including DAMPS IS-54b, IS-136, CDMA, NMT, etc.

You can store all your mobile numbers in the SMSexpress® phonebook along with user names and individual greetings for each person. Optionally the greeting and the name can be inserted automatically in the beginning of each message: Hello Peter, Dear Maria, Sweet Lily, etc. This works in broadcast mode as well. You may have unlimited number of phonebooks, each of them has a capacity of 1000 entries. You can load any phonebook and work with it. The phone book entries can be easily sorted by name or by number. You can also sort the entries manually by simple drag and drop method. If you want to send a message to any person in the phone book just click on the respective phone book line, and the mobile number, optionally the name and greeting for that person will be inserted automatically. All you have to do is type your message text and press the OK button. After some time your message will be sent to the respective SMS gateway server. The program will analyze the server response. Immediately you will be notified of success or failure by a distinctive sound and status bar message.

Analyzing a server final response in real time and interpreting it is only one of the features that make SMSexpress superior to some other similar programs which are sending a message to the server and never wait for confirmation. Such inferior programs may give you the wrong impression that they are sending messages very fast, but you will never know if those messages were actually delivered or not.

The unique broadcast function allows you to send the same message to a number of persons in a very short time by just one click. For example a boss of a big enterprise is making an important announcement to several dozen department heads about the forthcoming meeting, then the secretary can use SMSexpress. Another application is sending road traffic reports, weather reports, stock quotes, etc. to a large number of persons simultaneously in a short time. The SMS broadcast can be done selectively by marking the required phone book entries, or by using the bulk sending method (you must specify the starting number and the size of the block. For example if you specify the starting number of 79026060000 and the block size of 9999 numbers, the same SMS message will be sent to 9999 persons with mobile numbers from 79026060000 to 79026069999. Over a dial-up modem Internet connection speeds of 30 to 40 messages per minute are typical.

The SMSexpress® program is automatically maintaining a log of all SMS sending attempts: information such as date, time, success or failure result can be retrieved and analyzed at a later time. A detailed HTTP protocol request / response dialog is displayed in real time in the listbox window and can be helpful for diagnostic purposes.

Optionally all HTTP traffic can be routed through a proxy server of your choice. Sometimes it helps to solve unexpected Internet routing delays or time-out problems. If you don't want your IP address to appear on the SMS gateway logs you can use an anonymous proxy server. Thus a certain degree of anonimity can be achieved. The lists of anonymous proxy servers are available on the various Internet sites.
